We are open Tuesday – Saturday, 9am – 5pm for both the shop and the dining room. Last reservations in the dining room is 3:30pm.

We are closed Sunday, Mondays, public holidays and between Christmas and New Year. Collections for any items cannot be made when we are closed.

We are located at 197 Bury New Road, Whitefield, Manchester, M45 6GE. We have a small car park next to us. The main bus route is 135 which runs Manchester – Bury and vice versa. We are also approx. 200 yards from Whitefield Metrolink.

Yes, we have 2 blue badge spaces in the car park, an access ramp into the building. We have a lift upstairs to our dining room and accessible toilets.

We serve our afternoon tea in the dining room from 11:30am, once our breakfast service has finished. All other main menu items and desserts are available from 9am, along side breakfast.

No, you are welcome to come down to discuss your ideas at any time for both celebration and wedding cakes, we ask you arrive by 4pm to ensure we have enough time to run through all the detail required when taking your order.

For wedding cakes, we have a dedicated seating area for your wedding cake consultation in our shop and we will always have our most popular flavours available for you to try; Vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream, Chocolate sponge with chocolate fudge, chocolate sponge with deli orange, lemon sponge with deli lemon and traditional fruit cake. If you have any other flavours in mind, please call us a few days before you plan to visit to see if a sample can be arranged for you.

No we don’t offer a delivery service on our celebration cakes, we can however arrange for a local taxi company to deliver your cake, which is charged at their fare.

Our cakes are all made fresh to order by hand and they are very delicate they would not survive any courier process.

We do offer delivery of our wedding cakes, this is an additional charge which depends on the distance from us to the venue, you can call us on 0161 767 9303 for a quote.

Collections for celebration cakes can be made from 9am on the day it is ordered for and before we close at 5pm.

We ask for 2 weeks notice on our celebration cake orders, providing us with 2 weeks notice means we can create any size, design or detail you are wanting. Skilled cake decorators are rare and valuable crafts people and occasionally we may not have the resources to meet demand. Please order as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

We can make cakes with less notice than 2 weeks, the level of detail on the cake will depend on the orders we already have in and we have left to create the cake. Please call us 0161 767 9303 or ask in store what we can make within the time frame you have.

For wedding cakes we ask for a minimum of 6 weeks notice, we can occasionally make wedding cakes within 6 weeks, please get in touch with us to discuss.

We take orders over the phone 0161 767 9303 or in store, we do not take orders for celebration cakes through the website or email (you can send initial enquiries this way), as there are a lot of different variables to discuss and ensure we have right to create your cake.

At the time of ordering we take a deposit of a third of the cost and the rest is payable on collection. If you order over the phone it is only minimum deposits (1 third) we take, we cannot take full balances by card over the phone.

We can make a vanilla sponge, jam & buttercream cake, which does not contain gluten in the ingredients.

We are a fully working bakery, meaning flour and gluten particles can travel in the air. Whilst all due care is taken in the creation of a non-gluten celebration cake we cannot guarantee it is 100% free from gluten.

A £10.00 administration fee will always be withheld 24 hours after the order has been placed and paid for in relation to celebration cakes.

For celebration cakes, it is always possible to cancel with over 1 full weeks notice. We ask you get in touch with us as soon as possible if there have been changes to your celebrations. If work has been started on your cake, for e.g. the sponge has been baked, sugar decorations prepared, or items ordered then all or partial monies paid will be retained by Slattery to cover costs incurred.

We receive around 15-20 charity requests each week and whilst we would love to help everyone it is not possible. We have found the fairest way is to hold a weekly draw for these requests in which 5 are picked at random and gifted an afternoon tea for two voucher to use in fundraising or as prizes.

Due to the large numbers of requests, we receive we are not able to donate goods or cakes as a prize.
